The RAM I have is not on the QVL, but it looks like it won't even get to those checks yet, and I don't want to buy RAM I might not end up using if the board is toast. I also try a different CPU (Xeon E5 2620) that is known working and a brand new PSU, so it looks like the problem is really with the MB.

I have the Asus Z97 Pro wifi ac board with. I tried several different cables and have unplugged everything from the motherboard and PSU except for the CPU power cable and 24-pin connector. The flashing process (using USB Flashback) works as expected and completes without any issues. I reseated the CPU 6 times and have tried using the stock heatsink and the 212 EVO I got.

After researching Asus support site on how to use the Flash BIOS feature. First, I tried flashing both the latest BIOS, and the earliest with support for this CPU. On both machines I get nothing, no boot, no error codes, nothing and a red CPU LED. Funny thing is that shorting the power switch pins while it is "on" will turn off the system, so they are working. I can get the system to "boot", fan spinning and all, by shorting the CMOS reset pins, but the red CPU_LED goes on and it seems to never get past the CPU checks. System: Asus P9X79 Intel i7-3820 CPU + Hyper 212 EVO Corsair TX750M PS Corsair CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 (2X4) (QVL - originally 8X4 - left 2x4 for diagnostics) Sapphire HD7870 OC single (also tried instead Asus HD7770 Direct CU and different slots - the same effect) Intel SSD 330 120 Gb (however also.

Everything powers up but never progresses to a display, and according to the manual the red cpu led means it stops there because there is a problem. If I short the power switch pins, nothing happens. Getting a red cpu led on a asus P9x79 LE with a i7-4820k.

I fixed the bent pins but I can't boot or get a POST at all. The seller also had an ASUS P9X79 motherboard with a couple bent pins that he just gave me. tried both of the two RAM sticks solo on every slot (nothing changed.

When I attempt to boot the pc all I get is a red CPU LED nd nothing else happens (fans etc which are plugged in spin up and run fine, no led for RAM or GPU). It was pulled from a working system, so I have no reason to believe it is not functional. pump is running as well (CPU seems to be getting power as I can fell the pump head getting warm) checked if the CPU (electricity) connector is connected right to the motherboard (it is) removed RAM sticks. So basically I have a Asus P9X79 PRO mobo, an intel 4820K cpu, GTX 780, 4x4GB Gskill ripjaw DDR3 RAM. So, a few days ago, I purchased an i7-4930K processor on Facebook Marketplace. When I powered it back up, it gave a beep code (long, short, short, short.) For Asus, that's apparently 'No VGA Detected' (which is incredibly unhelpful.) I tried it a few more times, but all I get is the error code. It booted, and after a couple of minutes went black again. It worked fine, and I was able to change the resolution. I put the 780 back in, switched to a different monitor, reset the BIOS to the defaults. I swapped to a different video card with the same result - limited resolutions. Twice while working with it I had the screen go black and had to reboot.

It seemed to work just fine, except it was limited to 800圆00 or 1024x768 resolution. It gave a beep code (which I wasn't listening for, so didn't note), then POSTed normally. I put in my SSD and video card (a 780 GTX), and booted it. Sequence of events: After my son's PC died a couple of weeks ago, an acquaintance game me an Asus P9X79 Pro motherboard with RAM and processor, already in a case with an 800W power supply.
